VALUES AND CREATIVE THINKING PROCESS:


Within this lesson we were told to carry out research on our customer segments and question the types of relationships we tend to form as a business.


My app is going to be targeted towards female first year students attending university at Birmingham. This will be our most important customer because this demographic will be interested in finding out about student life. My selling- point will be to prevent isolation for young people moving to a new city and therefore create a variety of content to suit their needs. My key networks will be both Birmingham clothing brands, alongside student events. Working in synergy with different brands will help with advertisement and attract a mass audience.


My ideal customer would be a girl aged between 18-23 who is interested in fashion and is keen to participate in student life. I intend to research into my audiences' viewing needs to discover whether producing an app will be a suitable platform to attract this demographic.


Throughout this week we were also told to look at the value propositions of this business. My value proposition is that by creating an app, students will be entitle to a one week free trial. After this they will get the option on whether they want the basic or exclusive version of the app, the prices are as follows: £5 a month for the basic/ £6.99 for the exclusive. By allowing my client to have a weeks free trial this will form a sense of loyalty because they will see all of the benefits they gain from having a monthly subscription. The main differences are the more you pay, the more discounts you will receive. There is also not a platform offering all of these benefits and therefore has more chance of being successful due to recognising the customers needs. The overall value proposition is that my client will be receiving discounts and exclusive information on content throughout Birmingham.
